About & Contact
A place worth finding.
Hibiscus is a reservation-only fine dining experience set in a beautiful old farmhouse, surrounded by kitchen gardens, willow trees, and a beautiful pond.
Our story
Born from a love of the table.
Hibiscus began as a dream — a farmhouse, a garden, and a kitchen that could do justice to both. We wanted to create the kind of evening that stays with you: unhurried, personal, and rooted in the seasons. Every Wednesday, we open our doors to a single sitting of guests who come ready to be surprised.
The menu changes each week, written around what the garden and our trusted suppliers offer. The wine list is chosen with the same care. And the room — candlelit, quiet, full of the smell of something wonderful — does the rest.
"We cook the way we want to eat: slowly, carefully, and with a great deal of pleasure."
The Hand Behind the Table
Chef Erica Tuchscherer
Born in sunny California to the late Lyndall — affectionately known as The Pepperman — and Donna Swanson, Erica grew up with a mother who cooked both professionally and at home. That early love of a well-set table, of flavors that told a story, never left her. Transplanted to Wisconsin in 1974, she spent her childhood in Readfield, attended NL High School, and went on to earn her BSW — spending years in social work, real estate, substitute teaching, and in-home daycare before following the thread that had always been there: food.
Since stepping fully into her life as a chef, Erica has published a cookbook sold worldwide, founded her own micro bakery — Sweet Tooth — and now brings her final, most personal chapter to the Hibiscus table. A proud vegetarian, she tends her farmette in Northport alongside her husband Jon Huebner, her sons Ezekeil and Chase, bonus sons Hunter and Tucker Huebner and her greatest joy yet: grandson Asher James. When she isn't in the kitchen, you'll find her in the garden, hunting antiques, or somewhere out on the water.
Hibiscus is her final cooking destination — and she intends to make it unforgettable.
